Image Gallery Reference Commands

The following represents a brief overview of the syntax that must be used when submitting images to the STD Image Gallery.

All of the following commands must be e-mailed to: images@spacew.com. The Subject that each e-mail message must be set to is specified first (note that CASE is important when submitting commands to the image server. The contents of the Body of the e-mail message are then given using an example.

If you have any questions or are not certain about how to execute one of these commands, please refer to our Help Guide.

Setting Up Your Own Home Page URL

Note: This command lets you create a customized web URL to all of the images you (and only you) have stored on our server. For example, you may want to set up a URL so that when someone goes to: http://www.spacew.com/gallery/JohnDoe, they will end up going to your web page of images that you have submitted on the server.

Important: You must have at least one image on the server before this command can be used.

Subject:
SET HOMEPAGE

Body:

Line 1: Your_Access_Code
Line 2: The name you want to use as the URL. This name must abide by strict rules as defined below:

a. The FIRST character of this line MUST be an upper-case letter (not a number, or a lower-case letter, etc).

b. The SECOND and subsequent characters of this line may be upper or lower case letters, or digits.

Selling Prints of your Images On-Line

Note: This is a more complicated procedure, but is really very simple to do if you read the instructions properly. The following commands must be placed inside the body of the e-mail message you send - specifically within the image description portion of the text.

Important: You must have first obtained authorization to sell imagery before these commands will work.

Subject:
Title of your Image to Sell
Body:

Line 1: Your_Access_Code ; Your_Image_Theme
Line 2and all subsequent lines: The textual description of the image you are submitting.

Within the textual description of the image, the following command sequence will place a Buy Print button beside your image, allowing people to click on it and purchase prints of your images. Spelling and syntax must be strictly obeyed! Note the use of the underscore "_" character below. The underscore must be included within the Seller Information Block, which is defined as follows:

<SELL>
business_email: The email address for accepting Internet payments through PayPal.
product_name: The product you are selling.
product_number: Any product-specific information (this description is for your reference).
price: Price of the product you are selling (in United States Dollars)
<TEXT>
This is the text that is displayed immediately to the left of the Buy Print button. It can contain multiple lines. Lines separated by a blank line will show up on the web page as line breaks. To terminate this text block, use this command:
</TEXT>
</SELL>

An example e-mail message is included below:
