Just gotta love the macro lens!!! I got this with the macro lens to see a nice closeup of the spectrum. Its amazing what sunlight can do through raindrops.

Aurora of November 7/8 part 3

Submitted by: Michael Ellestad at Sat Nov 13 04:39:01 2004 UTC

This one is real erie because the main auroral arc is solid green and it makes me think: Are we still on planet Earth. Auroras do in ways look like something from a science fiction movie:)

Beautiful Dawn.

Submitted by: Graham Palmer at Sat Feb 3 05:15:01 2007 UTC

Dawn approaches on the 31st of January 2007. The Pacific Ocean gently laps against the beach while Comet McNaught hangs gracefully in the sky above Cape Kidnappers, Hawke's Bay. This truly remarkable comet has been a gift to astronomers and lay-people alike, the world over. Photo details: Canon 350D, 25 second exposure with a Sigma 18-125mm lens, ISO 800 @ f-3.5. Venus, Mercury February 4, 2007

Submitted by: Dennis Anderson at Sat Feb 10 23:09:01 2007 UTC

While millions were watching the Bears get beat by the Colts I had other things on my mind - a beautiful sunset and a planetary line up in the fresh air outside. This shot is taken from Diamond Ridge near Homer Alaska a couple hours after sunset on Super-Bowl sunday. Venus is at top left with Mercury near the center. Augustine Volcano is seen at the right. I used a 4x5 large format camera with a 300mm lens and a 20 second exposure on Fuji Provia 100F film to record the moment. Copyright (c) Dennis C.
