Aurora this morning 4/18/08 in Fairbanks.
Submitted by:
Jeff Pederson at Sat Apr 18 22:26:01 2009 UTC
ASA 800, f1.4, 2 sec.
The stars set the stage, with astronomical twilight providing the
lighting and a corona hole, the energy. The event -- a pretty good
aurora display this morning. Perhaps a swansong.

Spring Aurora... April 18th, 2009 Fairbanks, Alaska.
Submitted by:
Jeff Pederson at Sat Apr 18 20:01:01 2009 UTC
ASA 800, f1.4, 2 sec.
Early this morning, energized by a corona hole, the astronomical
twilight sky provided a backdrop to one of the last opportunities of
this watching season at Fairbank's latitude. Aurora certainly is a
siren in the night -- easily keeping me up in the wee hours of the
morning.

Autumn Moon Dance, 9/15/08 in Fairbanks.
Submitted by:
Jeff Pederson at Wed Sep 17 00:16:01 2008 UTC
I was out last night for a few hours and was treated to two substorms,
with spectacular twists and turns. Although the light from the full moon
drowned out much of the color, the display definitely had the most
attitude for this latitude so far for this season. .
