2005/08/25 Aurora "patch"
Submitted by:
Dave at Fri Aug 26 01:00:01 2005 UTC
A very weak and short display but it was a visually visible
naked eye aurora, faint beams were also visible extending up
to 30 degrees at times.
One thing that amazed me about this aurora was the fact that
the KP had only reached 5 at the time the image was taken, i normally
need a KP of 7.
This image was also a bit of a goof on my part, my iso was set at 100,
it would have been a much nicer image had i checked my settings and
set the iso to 400 ;-)
Anyway, Canon 20D, Tokina 20-35mm lens @ 22mm f2.8 ISO-100 20 second
exposure.

Aurora End is Near
Submitted by:
Dave at Mon May 16 01:27:01 2005 UTC
That is for my May 15th Aurora display, more clouds are rolling
in and twilight fast approaches, the sky still had that somewhat
eerie blue violet cast so i snapped one final image before heading
home.
