5 minute tracked exposure of the Milky Way taken the evening of August
2, 2005. Notice the light pollution near the horizon from the larger
cities miles and miles south of my location (the Mt Baker Ski Area).
Canon digital Rebel, ISO setting of 1600, 28mm lens.

Mixed Blessing
Submitted by:
Wade B Clark Jr at Sat Sep 18 23:30:01 2004 UTC
Red sunrises are such a mixed blessing. They are so moving to the
spirit, yet they bring cloudy and rainy weather to this part of the
county...which is what we've had for the last two weeks. ...no
aurora observing, no astrophotography, and no autumn color hiking...

M31 The Andromeda Galaxy
Submitted by:
Wade B Clark Jr at Mon Aug 16 10:50:01 2004 UTC
My first attempt at photographing the 'deep sky' with a digital SLR (ISO
setting of 1600). Several different exposures (from less than a minute
to nearly 8 minutes) combined with Adobe Photoshop. Photographed
through an 80mm f5.6 refractor piggybacked on a C-8...Losmandy G-11
motor driven mount.

as if there should be bright aurora all over the sky, but this is all
I've seen.
