An unexpected display over Quebec city. Not a bright display but enough
bright even under the full Moon... it was welcome after few months of
inactivity for me ! photo details : 16mm @ f 3.5 , ~10 sec , iso 800, 2

Contrail's Shadow

while I drove my car ( at 100 km/hour ;) I saw this shade coming from a
contrail but that lasted about 10 second and after that disappeared ! I saw
2 of these shadows that day ... I missed the first one but I prepared my
camera and few minutes later I had another chance ;) photo details : Coolpix

Question Mark Sunset

Sometimes , the clouds can create an unusual pattern in the sky ... this
time , a "?" was created by the clouds and the sun !!! photo details :

Faint sundogs

Faint sundogs visible over the St-Lawrence River , behind the Quebec
Brige and Pierre-Laporte Bridge in Quebec city , Canada. Just after I
took these photos, I crossed the bridge and the sundogs had disappeared,
then the sundogs was caused by the humidity of the stream. photo details
: Coolpix 4300 , 38mm @ f 7.6 , 1/1000 sec. , 2 photos stitched , 19
feb. 2005 at sunrise.

M42 and IC 434

M42 known as the Orion nebula and IC 434 as Horse head can be seen in the
constellation of Orion in the winter sky. photo details : Schmidt-Camera 8"
F1.5 ( 300mm fl ) , 5 minutes ( unguided ) , kodak supra 400 , image cropped
to remove some technical error.

The best northern lights that I saw to date !!! I realized one of my dream ,
see and photograph aurora like Alaska can have !!! Incredible night that I
had , I'll not sleep during 3 days ;) severals pictures to come in the next

What a lucky show I had here in Quebec city !!! It was solid overcast here
but at 10pm ( local time ) we had a break in the clouds during 2 hours then
I had the time to "burn" 3 rolls of 24 exposures and millions of pixels
during these 2 hours ;) Here's 2 digital pictures ... more film pictures
