This ghostly glow was a surprise Saturday morning at 5:00 a.m. est - (10:00 UTC) It floated like a green comet's tail at about 60 degree's right over our street - but lasted no more than 20 minutes, before fading into the NE direction. 28mm lens f:2.8 15-20s. Sun Pillars January 2004.

Submitted by: Lori at Sun Jan 25 23:46:02 2004 UTC

In order to capture these sun pillars it took some fast camera-work. Standing on a hill in blustery cold wind was no fun, but these pillars were unusually tall, so I just had to be there!

Last Tuesday night (Jan.20/04) was a perfect night to see the Light pillars in King City, Ontario. It was cold, but without the windchill. I could even feel the ice crystals softly drizzling on my face. 25mm lens, 15 seconds exposure on Fuji 400 Superia X-tra
