Breakfast Companions Rearranged

Submitted by: Beth Katz at Wed Nov 10 11:50:01 2004 UTC

Yesterday, the Moon was above Venus and Jupiter. Now it's below clearly demonstrating how much the Moon moves in 24 hours. Spica is peaking over the housetop. I was a little earlier this morning, so the camera chose a 1 second exposure, f 3.0, ISO 400. Check out my gallery here to see yesterday's shot. Copyright 2004 Beth Katz (katz@cs.millersville.edu)

Circumzenithal Arc - 9 Jan 2004

Submitted by: Beth Katz at Sat Jan 10 03:20:01 2004 UTC

This circumzenithal arc (CZA) was above a tangent arc. The CZA disappeared and reappeared as the cirrus clouds and contrails floated by. The tangent arc bent down on the bright side. My photos of the tangent arc and sundogs were okay but not great. Photo taken 12:55 pm EST, January 9, 2004 in Lancaster County, Pennslyvania with a Nikon 4500 exposed for 1/640, ISO 100. Sun Pillar - 7 December 2003

Submitted by: Beth Katz at Thu Jun 2 13:19:01 2005 UTC

I have a new digital camera and grabbed it to take this picture of a sun pillar as the sun rose. It reminded me of a sword. The camera was on automatic, and I blocked the sun (somewhat) with a tree and the school building in the distance. December 7, 2003 with a Nikon Coolpix 4500.
