This was the start of activity at 12:00-12:30 mountain time. Green bands were partly
visible through the clouds on the horizon. 10 sec, f2, 50mm ME Super on Fuji 800 film

This photo was taken at approx 6:00 UTC, looking northwest. The green
was bright, but the red was fairly faint, but showed up well in the
photo. I used a Pentax ME Super, 50mm lens @F2, 10 seconds on Kodak 400

shifted places, and both are shrinking in size.
I used a Pentax ME Super, 50mm lens @F2, 10 seconds on Kodak 400

Here is a shot looking towards the Pleiades. the red patch looks a bit
like a corona. I used a Pentax ME Super, 50mm lens @F2, 10 seconds on Kodak 400

For a period of about a minute, the sky overhead started to show a
bright green band that extended from maybe 30 degrees north of zenith,
all the way south well into Orion. This photo shows the southern part of
the band, with Orion visible through it. I used a Pentax ME Super, 50mm
lens @F2, 10 seconds on Kodak 400

degrees above the horizon. I used a Pentax ME Super, 50mm lens @F2, 10
