Oct 29 2003 Aurora from Southern Idaho

Submitted by: Rick Stirling at Wed Oct 29 12:15:01 2003 UTC

35 second exposure with Nikon Coolpix 990 at F/2.8 +Contrast Daylight WB - Altitude 7500' in the Cache National Forest. Had clear sky overhead but clouds to the north. I took a 35 minute dark frame and used it to subtract noise from the image. You can clearly see stars in the constelation Draco. This is my first aurora photograph.
