Upper tangent arc ?

Submitted by: Lori at Tue Feb 28 21:46:01 2006 UTC

On Feb.08/06 I was greeted to a similar phenomenon as Beth Katz reported today (Feb.28./06) By checking with the site "Atmospheric Optics" (click on Infrequent Halos) my finding could also be a PARRY ARC with a tiny Parry infralateral to the left, - I'm not sure. I had to use my garden ornament again to block out the sun at 11:30 am, despite using a 4xN.D.filter with ISO 200 film. I would appreciate clarification and can be reached at pcheckowy@hotmail.com Lori C, King City, Ont./Canada N44 W079
