I got this picture when I lived in northern White Mtns. in NH about 9
years ago..
Does anyone know what phenomenon may have caused the sharp cutoff on
the color of the sky.You can see the sharp cutoff horizontally across
the sky.
Again this was as a cold front was moving in.I thought it might be some
kind of optical effect due to a severe temperature inversion.

This shot was a lucky one.A cold front had moved in in the late
afternoon and the sky was black with clouds at sunset. There was an
opening for about 5 minutes and I got this shot.

Aurora was very faint with very little color to be seen with the
naked eye.Just goes to show that it pays to try even though you can't
see much.

This image was taken on the night of 12/23/02 6:03 AM UTC from Milaca
MN USA.
No color or detail was evident to the naked eye.Only a dull glow with
a hint of rays.I thought this image was kind of unique due to the white
rays.
Image is watermarked and copyrighted.
Camera was an OM-1....lens 50mm f/1.4 wide open for 1 minute and the
film was Fuji 200 super HQ
