Taken from the Halifax Centre of the RASC's St Croix Observatory in Nova Scotia, Canada May 1st 1:30UT to 2:30UT with a Pentax ME Super SLR, 28mm wa lens at f/2.8 on Fuji SuperX 800 film. Amazing display of the power of the Sun's energy and the Earth's ability to absorb it. 11:30UT Oct 30th the eastern and western skies were lit up with deep red pillars of light stretching to the zenith. Many friends and family who had never seen a display of this magnitude before stood in awe that night.
