Aurora over creek #1 - March 16, 2003
Submitted by:
Phil Hoffman at Wed Mar 19 07:07:01 2003 UTC
I was surprised by this bright display on Sunday night. I found it
remarkable how it was so similar to one I had photographed 2 years ago
at the same location. On both occasions the moon was full, the
temperature was pleasantly mild and the aurora was outstanding. The
behavior of the lights was so similar that unless I'm careful, I may
have trouble distinguishing the photos from the two occasions.

Double Iridium flares
Submitted by:
Phil Hoffman at Wed Jan 8 07:09:01 2003 UTC
On December 4, 2002 two Iridium satellites passed over within 45 seconds
of each other. Iridium 59 at 19:07:44 and Iridium 95 at 19:08:29. This
photo is slightly cropped to remove some of the light fall-off in the
corners. The one minute exposure on Provia 400F was made just outside
Whithorse, Yukon.

This is my first attempt at making a composite photo of the aurora -
three photos stiched together. The moon is just rising on the right,
twilight is still visible on the left. April 27, 2002
