At 04:00 ADT . 12:00UT September 17th, a bright arc low to the north exploded into the best displays I've seen this season. 8 seconds on Superia 800, Nikkor 28mm/f1.4 John Russell, Nome Alaska. http://northernlightsnome.homestead.com

Beautiful coronal hole-fired auroras from the 11th.

I took this photo about 14 miles west of Nome Alaska on September 11th 02, at 04:00 local time, in the first truely (otherwise) dark nights this year. Nikkor 28mm @ f1.4, and 10 seconds on Superia 800. John Russell, Nome Alaska http://northernlightsnome.homestead.com
