I am a new user.  I started Proplab Pro late Monday night, and shut it down and started it again successfully several times.

Then I started a map draw, and it drew the map, although it was very slow (I was warned about this from other users).

About 12 hours later I looked at it, and the Windows hourglass-thingy was still hovering.  Eventually it crashed, and when I tried to run it again, all I got was the square logo that tells me to wait.  After waiting a long time, I pulled up Windows Task Manager, and the Task Status for Proplab is Not Responding.

I rebooted the machine, ran it again, same problem, so I tried rebooting and running again, same thing.

So I uninstalled Proplab using the Uninstall selection under the Proplab folder in Start, All Programs.

I rebooted and reinstalled, and am getting the same thing.

I looked at Registry issues with CCleaner, and found a few after uninstalling again.  I fixed those minor issues (various dll's and files pointing to things that were no longer there), rebooted and installed again, with same results.

What should I do next?

I am running a Pentium P4, 3 GHz with 2 GB RAM,

We would appreciate it if you could send us your "proplab.cfg" file (inside the installation folder for Proplab) so we can examine it to determine what the problem is.

Try deleting this file (it isn't automatically uninstalled if you uninstall the software) and rerunning Proplab. Proplab will rebuild the defaults on its first run. If there is a problem with one of your settings that is causing it to crash, this will resolve the problem.

What type of map were you trying to draw that you believe caused it to crash?

Send it to: admin@spacew.com or PM the admin here.

Thank you.  I don't have the proplab.cfg file after uninstalling the program the last time.  Unfortunately, I deleted the folder also this time, and it was probably there.

I will try right now to install again.

Wow....this time it installed and ran.  Maybe because I deleted that config file last time when I dumped the proplab folder.

I just noticed something.  When I entered my email address on the Internet Options page (I had forgotten this), it saved the configuration as 2010122.cfg, but the proplab.cfg file remains unchanged, and dated 1/17/2010.

Right now it is trying to fetch data, and even though I entered my email address in the configuration.  Nothing is really happening, except the hourglass is on, indicating it is busy.  It finally ended its attempts to grab data, and all the data looks wrong.  For instance, the noon 10.7 cm flux at Penticton yesterday was 82.6, yet after supposedly fetching the data, the program shows it as 76.9.

I will send you the latest config file.

I think I was trying to draw a ray traced MUF map.
