Some coronal holes are always observable on the sun. Displays of the aurora therefore might be seen regularly from high latitudes.

I am unable to download solar and/or geomagnetic updates.  I have tried both checking the "Obtain Solar..." box and by depressing the Current Values" button.  Both with the same effect - perma-loop.  After several minutes I bring up the Task Manager and find the program is not responding.  I use PC Security Shield and have disabled both the firewall and virus program which doesn't solve the problem.  I also have a program named Ionoprobe which is regularly (about every 10 minutes) receiving updates of the same type data Proplab 3 is calling for.  I am on cable for the internet (high speed) and always connected.  I use a pc with dual core 2.933 Ghz processors and with 4096 mb of memory.

Can you help?

Thanks,

George

Just to follow up on this comment... I believe George was able to solve this problem. It was related to a firewall issue associated with his internet security software. Perhaps George can elaborate if he runs into this sometime in the future.

Hi

Same problem. Disabeled the firewall, but it did not help!

What was the fix? The values in the boxes do not change when I klick on the "Current Values" button. Solar Flux value is always at 0.0 when the program starts, and nothing gets udated from the net.
Yes, I do have my E-mail address in the "For FTP use box"

This is getting very frustrating!  I know that with incorrect values here, the whole program show wrong results.

Can anyone pleas help?

Best regards from Lewi (LA4CIA)

No help?  No hope?  Did you ever get it working?  I didn't.
