Hi Killer Rabbit,
I found out the Canopus Project has ended and was supposed to be upgraded, but is taking time.  Here's a link for that:  http://bluebird.phys.ualberta.ca/carisma/
I usually use the MUF map on this STD site, as it pretty much always reflected the Canopus Oval.

Ackkkk!  This was one of my most favorite sites.  It contained very specific information about the auroral oval that I have relied on.  And as an auroral newbie, I need all the help I can get!  Thank you so much for the link so that I can find out what's going on.  The next time some activity flared up I would have been very frustrated not to know what happened to them.
Thanks again for the info,

Not bad at all, including its link back to the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

And as an "oops" on my part, further to Ukiyo-e's informative post earlier in this thread, I posted some additional info on the status of CANOPUS and its successor at: http://www.spacew.com/forum/index.php/topic,447.msg2745.html#msg2745 I probably should have posted it in this thread...

Thanks for the links!  I can spend a few less minutes looking at a computer screen and more time looking at the sky.
