Proplab-Pro Version 3, BUILD 1017 is now available for download at: http://www.spacew.com/proplab-purchase/proplab-upgrade-1017.exe

All legitimate owners of Proplab-Pro version 3 are permitted to download this file at your earliest convenience.

This build corrects a date problem that prevented Proplab-Pro from generating ray-tracings and other plots after 01 January 2010. Symptoms of this problem included Floating Point and Divide by Zero errors that crashed Proplab. This build also allows Proplab-Pro to begin making use of the GOES-14 spacecraft solar x-ray data, and x-ray data from all future GOES spacecraft.

After installing this build, it will be necessary to re-adjust your Proplab configuration file. This build makes an adjustment to the configuration file and then resets all values back to their defaults.

I have a question about 1017.

As I understand it, if we are doing a new installation of Proplab Pro, we only install the latest update, 1017.

The size of 1017 after I downloaded it is 873 kb

But the size of 1016 is over 5 Mb.

Is this correct?  Or do we need to install previous updates too?  If so, should it be all of them, or just certain ones?

You should incrementally install them. If you're concerned, download the latest full install and install that. It will contain all of the incremental releases.

The only caveat is with the current full package. That package does not yet contain the 1017 patch, so if you download that full install, follow it up by installing the 1017 patch.

Interesting.  I see the installation package is 254,312 KB, dated 1/9/2010.  That must be when I downloaded it.  This time (after deleting the remaining proplab folder after the last uninstall) I ran the installation package, then 1106, then 1107.  Seems to run at the moment without crashing.  It is no longer just hanging when the logo appears.
